As it’s been ages since I’ve written anything, it’s about time I declared that I’m going to do a Commerce Specialist/Computer Science double degree, which will hopefully leave me with a Bachelor of Actuarial Science and a Bachelor of Computer Science in four years’ time. It’s all quite exciting, and I’m looking forward to the change from high school life (although for how long it’ll stay that way I can’t say).
In other news, this blog now uses HTTPS – so now traffic is encrypted so no evil beings can do evil things as easily as before, thanks to Let’s Encrypt. Not that anyone was doing anything evil (as far as I’m aware), but I do like seeing the green padlock next to the URL.
Anyway, that’s all for now. More blogging to come at a later date.Comments: none yet | Filed under: blog, life, school, site | Tagged: actuarial science, commerce, computer science, https, university

So having neglected this site for almost five months, I am able to declare that I’ve finished all my exams for the year. Huzzah! They mostly weren’t too hard, which is good, but you never know… Now I’m supposed to have heaps of time to do what I want during the holidays, and that will hopefully involve video games, music and programming. I’ll put something in the music category someday. Probably.
But so ends my high school education, and I get to look forward to even more, harder education in the future. I wonder how fun university is going to be. That’s all for now. More blogging to come at a later date.Comments: none yet | Filed under: blog, school | Tagged: exams, year 12

Well, apparently I haven’t blogged in ages, but there’s no time to blog like the present.
Today is the last day of term 2, meaning that I get two weeks of holidays in which I can do as I please. In other words I get two weeks to prepare for term 3, during which I’ll probably be expected to re-read English texts, revise Specialist Maths and look at practice exams. How much of that will actually get done is something that will only be determined two weeks from now.
I’m looking forward to term 3, although it’s probably going to be the busiest one of all. I should start thinking of Battle of the Bands too; hopefully it’ll be as much fun as I think it’s going to be.
That’s all for now. More blogging to come later.Comments: none yet | Filed under: life, school | Tagged: algorithmics, employment, holidays, programming, term 2, term 3, university of melbourne, vce

So it’s been quite some time since I’ve blogged about anything – I neglected to post for the entire month of February and the majority of March, but that’s because things have been pretty busy lately.
Year 12 isn’t bad, but it is a lot of work, and being Music Captain means some more work on top of that. From Wednesday to Friday I was on Strings Music Camp, the last camp I’ll be attending this year. It was a lot of fun, despite being very similar to every other music camp I’ve been on in the past.
That’s probably because music is so much fun, and that there are no VCE seminars or bush walks to go through. The music captains on camp have to run the trivia night and challenge night that have been part of the camp since what seems like forever, and happily, it was a great success.
There have also been SACs and stuff lately, but that’s boring. More blogging to come at a later date.Comments: none yet | Filed under: blog, school | Tagged: concert strings, intermediate strings, music camp, senior strings

So today marks the first real day of year 12 for me, and it’s been good so far… That might just be because I only have three classes today though; Tuesday is going to be a busy day – seven periods of class immediately followed by 1.5 hours of string ensemble – at least I don’t have weird gaps in the day. Luckily on Wednesday I only have two classes and can then go home.
This year I’ve got five subjects: English, Algorithmics, Phyiscs, Chemistry and Specialist Maths. I have pretty good teachers for those subjects, so that’s good for me. It should hopefully be a good year.
While doing five subjects means I have free periods (or ‘study’ periods, as they call it), I only have one of them where I’ll actually be at school, since the others are placed nicely so I don’t have to show up. Incidentally, that one study period I have is the one I’m using to write this. Maybe this means I’ll write a post every week? No, I don’t think it does, but perhaps a little more frequently than just once or twice per month.
That’s all for now. More blogging to come at a later date.Comments: none yet | Filed under: school | Tagged: algorithmics, chemistry, english, physics, specialist maths, study periods, year 12
