University Enrolment and HTTPS
Posted January 29th, 2016 by Jason N
As it’s been ages since I’ve written anything, it’s about time I declared that I’m going to do a Commerce Specialist/Computer Science double degree, which will hopefully leave me with a Bachelor of Actuarial Science and a Bachelor of Computer Science in four years’ time. It’s all quite exciting, and I’m looking forward to the change from high school life (although for how long it’ll stay that way I can’t say).
In other news, this blog now uses HTTPS – so now traffic is encrypted so no evil beings can do evil things as easily as before, thanks to Let’s Encrypt. Not that anyone was doing anything evil (as far as I’m aware), but I do like seeing the green padlock next to the URL.
Anyway, that’s all for now. More blogging to come at a later date.
Moving Host and Methods SAC
Posted May 14th, 2014 by Jason N
So a few days ago, I decided to purchase some proper hosting (ie. paid hosting). The website is now hosted in Sydney, meaning it loads nice as fast for me, and no longer has the weird limitations of the old free host. Ah, the joys of pages loading in an instant…
Today I had my second Mathematical Methods 3&4 SAC; this one on circular functions. It’s going to be worth twice as much as the first one (on which I got 100%). Unfortunately, it was extremely difficult, so full marks are probably out of reach this time around. I don’t like application tasks; they’re invariably poorly written with many mistakes and inconsistencies. They try to apply mathematical concepts to model so-called ‘real-life’ situations, but do so in a ridiculously unrealistic way.
Site Reshuffle (Again)
Posted April 10th, 2014 by Jason N
So you may have noticed that the posts that I had moved to Quux.Baz have returned to this website. This is mainly because it’s just too annoying to manage two independent WordPress installations, but also because my Quux.Baz domain is going to expire soon and I don’t want to pay another $8 for a website I don’t even update frequently. This concludes the site re-reshuffle.
I also got around to making the comments appear more bearable, so I don’t cringe every time I see them (all two of them).
That’s all for this short and sweet post.
Site Reshuffle

So today I decided to move all of the non-blog posts to Quux.Baz. The current links here still work, but redirect you when you view the whole posts.
This site will remain my personal site, while informative and instructional posts will go into Quux.Baz.
I plan to blog and post music related stuff here, and post tutorials, articles and projects on Quux.Baz. We’ll see how that works out. Hopefully this restructure will allow me to keep things cleaner (probably not, actually) with the differing topics appearing in different places.
Site Reboot and Loss of Data
Posted November 16th, 2013 by Jason N
So, today I finally got around to rebuilding the entire site, making a new layout that doesn’t look like it’s from a decade ago. Ah, I just love how gracefully it overflows… CSS3 and HTML5 are the best inventions around today. Anyway, a couple of months ago it became apparent that the website was getting inundated with spam (not that it got published). This, coupled with some sort of hacking attempt (although it seems quite likely that it succeeded) eventually led to my web host deactivating the website. Unfortunately, I hadn’t backed up the database recently, so recent posts could not be restored. Oh well, it’s not like anyone reads this stuff anyway…
