Braces, Painting and Driving

Posted January 15th, 2014 by

So it’s been quite a while since I last posted anything… Christmas has passed, 2014 has begun, and I have done a number of things. The first was begin painting my room; originally, I was going for a dark blue-grey colour, but somehow I ended up with a colour that looks quite like the TARDIS. Quite the coincidence.

The second was getting braces. My teeth are pretty crooked, especially the top ones, so I have now had braces put in. I never realised just how stupidly hard braces make eating anything good. It’s all worth it though, right?

The third was getting my ‘Ls’, i.e. getting my car learner permit. The test is actually ridiculously easy, so I ended up getting 100%. It’s a bit disconcerting to have people there who just barely passed, or mentioned that they failed the first time… Oh well, you don’t need to know all of the road rules when you’re about to take (or lose?) control of a vehicle with the potential to do massive harm…

Also, as it’s been my birthday, and then Christmas, I have some more cash to spend… I’m planning on buying a ‘real’ microphone (and then hopefully recoup some of the costs at Chinese New Year). Before I do that, though, I need a preamp with phantom power… I think I’ll start to blog about construction of that… It should be interesting.

That’s all for now.
