So having neglected this site for almost five months, I am able to declare that I’ve finished all my exams for the year. Huzzah! They mostly weren’t too hard, which is good, but you never know… Now I’m supposed to have heaps of time to do what I want during the holidays, and that will hopefully involve video games, music and programming. I’ll put something in the music category someday. Probably.
But so ends my high school education, and I get to look forward to even more, harder education in the future. I wonder how fun university is going to be. That’s all for now. More blogging to come at a later date.Comments: none yet | Filed under: blog, school | Tagged: exams, year 12

And so concludes my 2014 unit 3 & 4 VCE exams. Exam 2 was reasonably easy, although I probably made some stupid mistakes – I most likely got something around 78/80, but we’ll see eventually.
There wasn’t anything particularly difficult in this exam. I thought it was easier than last year’s exam 2, but some of the multiple choice needed a bit of thinking. This did have some different questions that hadn’t been seen in an exam for a while, and Tasmania Jones’s question was rather lack-luster in my opinion – he didn’t even have to escape a vat of acid or anything, all he did was observe an ice-block for 21 years.
But that’s the exam, and now all my assessment for Mathematical Methods is complete. All I have to deal with now is a bunch of unit 1 & 2 exams. Shouldn’t be too hard, except maybe the GMA exam which will no doubt be more difficult than the exam I just did today.

So I have now completed the 2014 Mathematical Methods (CAS) Exam 1 paper. It wasn’t too hard, although I made a stupid mistake on the very last part of the last question – I forgot to subtract 8 from my answer, which means I wrote 25 instead of 17. Oh well, it’s just one mark, and 39/40 is still pretty good.
Tomorrow I have Exam 2, which means I won’t be making any arithmetic errors – having a calculator makes that a lot easier.
We’ll see how it goes. Let’s hope 50 raw is still a possibility (even if it’s a small one)Comments: none yet | Filed under: school | Tagged: exams, maths methods

So tomorrow (Wednesday) and Thursday, I’ll be sitting Mathematical Methods (CAS) Exam 1 and Exam 2 respectively – and so will a whole lot of people across the state of Victoria. Today, being Melbourne Cup day, is a public holiday, so I’m able to stay home and presumably do lots more practice exams in preparation for tomorrow.
At least VCAA exams should be a piece of cake compared to the likes of Kilbaha. We’ll see how it goes I suppose.
Oh, and I haven’t yet mentioned that I’m 2015 GWSC Music Captain – or Co-Music Captain, since there are two of us. I wonder if this will be motivation for me to actually put something in the currently empty Music section of this website… Maybe someday soon.
That’s all for now. I’m still writing the next couple of web development tutorials, but as you can imagine, I’m kind of busy at the moment. More blogging to come at a later date.Comments: none yet | Filed under: school | Tagged: exams, maths methods, music captain

So today I had my last exam: Information Technology. It was pretty easy, just a matter of regurgitating information from the textbook. So far all of my exam results have been OS, so I’ve been pretty satisfied. The only thing remaining before normal classes resume is the practice GAT on Wednesday; a two hour waste of my life to prepare for a three hour waste of my life the following Wednesday. Oh well, if it helps increase my grades, then maybe it isn’t a waste of my life.
So my preliminary grades for this semester (I won’t know my actual grades until the start of term 3) seem to be:
Chemistry – OS OS OS
Physics – OS OS OS
English – OS OS EX
Information Technology – OS OS OS
Maths General Advanced – OS OS EX
I’m pretty happy with that; no P.E. grades to bring me down this time. Hopefully my grades won’t change for the worse – my Chemistry and Information Technology exams still haven’t been marked yet.
