So I haven’t really updated this website in a while, mostly because school takes too much time… On Thursday, I have one test and two SACs: a Chemistry test, a General Maths Advanced SAC on matrices and a Physics SAC on forces. Since it’s term 3, it’s probably going to get even more busy since this is when all the stuff is supposed to get done. Luckily, Friday is a curriculum day, so I can spend the eighth day of the eight month at home.
I’ve been doing a bit more computer and electronics -related stuff, but nothing to write about really; I’ll have to think of something more interesting to do. I’m still without music content, I know, but I’ll get on to that soon, or perhaps ‘eventually’ would be a more accurate word.
That’s all for now, more blogging to come at a later date.Comments: none yet | Filed under: blog, school | Tagged: chemistry, general maths advanced, physics, school

So today I had my last exam: Information Technology. It was pretty easy, just a matter of regurgitating information from the textbook. So far all of my exam results have been OS, so I’ve been pretty satisfied. The only thing remaining before normal classes resume is the practice GAT on Wednesday; a two hour waste of my life to prepare for a three hour waste of my life the following Wednesday. Oh well, if it helps increase my grades, then maybe it isn’t a waste of my life.
So my preliminary grades for this semester (I won’t know my actual grades until the start of term 3) seem to be:
Chemistry – OS OS OS
Physics – OS OS OS
English – OS OS EX
Information Technology – OS OS OS
Maths General Advanced – OS OS EX
I’m pretty happy with that; no P.E. grades to bring me down this time. Hopefully my grades won’t change for the worse – my Chemistry and Information Technology exams still haven’t been marked yet.

So tomorrow will mark the start of my Unit 1 exams…
The first one is English, and luckily the only exam I have on Monday. Hopefully I’ll be able to think of things to write for it. My second exam takes place on Wednesday, and is Chemistry, and I think I’m reasonably prepared for that. Also on Wednesday is Application Task Part 2 for Mathematical Methods 3&4. That, I’m a little more worried about, since last year’s one was so easy, they’ll probably make it really hard (or write it really badly, there’s hardly any difference to me).
On Thursday I have both exams for General Maths Advanced; three hours of examination… That should go okay I guess, I didn’t have a problem with the past two years’ exams. Also on Thursday is the Victorian School Music Festival, which means I’ll be out at Federation Square from 6:30pm and won’t be back until around 11:15pm. That doesn’t leave much time to sleep before my Physics exam 8:30am on Friday… Oh well, Physics is easy anyway.
The following Monday, I have an IT exam… I assume that I know everything that I need to for that exam, but I’ll have to brush up on my excel formula syntax.
That sums up the week and a bit ahead that makes up my exams. More blogging to come during the week.Comments: none yet | Filed under: school | Tagged: application tasks, chemistry, english, exams, general maths advanced, IT, maths methods, physics

So I just did part two of the GMA 1&2 application task. It was full of triangles and circles, and I don’t think I did a particularly good job… Oh well, it’s the average of two parts that count, and I did reasonably well on the first one.
Yesterday, I had a physics SAC on electricity. Dr Cobb has already marked it, and I managed to get a perfect score. To be fair, it was a pretty easy test, but 100% is still as good as it gets.
The other two SACs I had yesterday went quite well; GMA application task part one and Organic Chemistry and Polymers were both pretty easy, although they haven’t been marked yet, so I don’t really know how well I went.

So a few days ago, I decided to purchase some proper hosting (ie. paid hosting). The website is now hosted in Sydney, meaning it loads nice as fast for me, and no longer has the weird limitations of the old free host. Ah, the joys of pages loading in an instant…
Today I had my second Mathematical Methods 3&4 SAC; this one on circular functions. It’s going to be worth twice as much as the first one (on which I got 100%). Unfortunately, it was extremely difficult, so full marks are probably out of reach this time around. I don’t like application tasks; they’re invariably poorly written with many mistakes and inconsistencies. They try to apply mathematical concepts to model so-called ‘real-life’ situations, but do so in a ridiculously unrealistic way.Comments: none yet | Filed under: school, site | Tagged: application tasks, chemistry, circular functions, cyderize.org, general maths advanced, maths, maths methods, physics, webhosting
